Just d/load the game to your F drive then mate. C drive is just a pretty generic default for the local drive - personally, I only ever use the C drive to install windows onto, I have the partition as low as I feasibly can, and use my other drives for system programs like skype and various drivers for my graphics and sound card, one I use simply for storing photos. music, films etc, and yet another one for my games.

I'm guessing you got your system from somewhere like PC World?
Reply:hi dude

so u have a shortage of disk space well let me show u how to clean some space got to the

START%26gt;programs%26gt;run option

and

key in %temp% and hit enter this will open up the users temporary location used by programs u could clean this since its usually used when u install any application.
Reply:this is a common problem john, something that microsoft havent been able to plug, however i think its more to do with the software writers and not microsofts operating systems

when you install a program, users allways install the games or apps using the default settings,so we allways install it into whatever folder the program places it in

why not create a new folder,or if you can a seperate partition,so when you install a game you can browse and use the new partiiton as the target directory

its a easy method, when you come to the part of the installation were you see the target drive, use the browse option to locate the new folder or partiiton

alot of users, when setting up a windows xp installation do a partition, they make a 10 to 20gb partiiton for the xp operating system, this allows enough space for page files ect,and then 1 or 2 40gb partitions ,1 for games files and program files, and the other for storage such as photos, movies

with regards to the mix up with drive letters, this sometimes happens with some p.c,s,for example when you add a second drive or a new optical drive, drive letters may change

this is why i mentioned about changing your target drive, just because the program states you should place it in the c drive you dont have to,that is why all programs give you the option to "browse"

so basically when you install a program, browse and locate your "f drive" as this is now your local disk,

or to make things easier, just re-install windows xp,and during set up,use the partition editor during installation to create the 3 partitions like i mentioned

c drive(system) windows xp.......10 to 20gb

d drive(games/apps)..................40gb

e drive(storage).............................

f drive ........................................... drive

g drive...................................... drive

.............................a drive........floppy drive

this is the way i do my drives, and the good thing about doing it this way,is that you can re-install windows without loosing your data and games,as they will be on "d" and "e" drives

i hope this helped john

good luck mate!
Reply:If you feel confident, you can switch off your computer, open the case and make sure that the connections to all of the drives are secure.

Then switch on the computer and when the option to go into the BIOS starts up, you should be able to press the 'Del' or 'Delete' key or the 'F2' key and have a look at the BIOS settings.

Set the primary disk to AUTO or sometimes there is a utility in the BIOS for detecting the size of a hard drive or setting it manually.

If you still experience problems, you may need to get it checked at a repair shop.

You haven't 'hidden' the drive have you?

And you have administrator rights to install software?

Or is this on a work network? F is usually a network drive where your files can be stored...
