When I shoot a night Pi c at a f-ball game @ ISO 400 won't that B grainy and hard to enlarge??

1. film best results absolutly no grain (as long as exposure is correct)


2. DSLR most digial slrs do wonders at ISO 400 and even very respectful at 800


3. compact digitals (pocket size) are mediocre at 400, and best at iso 100-200. but if you need to get the shot then it's better then nothing

Poster size will be grainy, even 11x14 will show some grain but not too bad. Most important is to get the right exposure and fast enough to stop motion. You need a good lens that passes a lot of light. In other words an F-Stop of 1.4 would be great. Some lens' are f5.6 or more. This indicates that not much light gets through the lens. The lower the number, the better. This would allow you to shorten the exposure time and get a better picture. A big front lens might be a good indication of light transference. The f-stop value is printed on the lens. Something like this: 50mm f 2.8
Reply:i think your talking about film, so, at 400 ISO, no it wouldn't be grainy until you blow it up quite large if you use a good 35mm SLR to expose it.
